Who are we?
Previously known as Let's Get Chatty our Befriending with MARR community led initiative is here to help residents in Medway tackle loneliness and isolation and provide both telephone befriending and monthly face to face sessions across Medway.
We are a group of volunteers who are available to speak with anyone who've been cut off from their support structures - be that community, friends or family. We aim to bridge the gap of isolation with this simple act of kindness.

Type of Outreach Sessions:
Coffee, Chat & Connect – relaxing environment within local cafes/restaurants for all over the age of 18. Perfect for non-committal chats, friendship nurturing and first group interactions.
Walk & Talk – light exercise for all abilities, we ensure all routes are fully accessible and go at the pace of the slowest member. We stop for refreshments enjoying both nature and company.
Board Games – Working with our MA|RR Community Champion Playopolis in Rochester, we get together for board games of all types, we play collectively or in pairs.
Club 18 – 24 NEW FOR 2024 – Aimed at those aged between 18 and 24, the sessions will eventually be run; by the youth for the youth. Our first session will be held on Wednesday 24th January.
Health Empowerment NEW FOR 2024 – Aimed for all those with chronic health conditions, this group will be a safe sanctuary for those wishing to discuss their conditions and experiences in a safe and welcoming venue.
Climate Café NEW FOR 2024 - Working across Medway MA|RR will be running a series of Climate Cafes within community spaces. Sessions will be interactive and informative. We are an active member of the Medway Council Climate Change Community Working Group and our co-founder Kate has also been selected by Kent Community Foundation to become an Eco Coach.

Coffee, Chat & Connect
Join us for one of our Coffee, Chat & Connect session. We hold them across the Medway Towns which are accessible for all. What's more we cover the cost of a hote drink and cake/biscuits so there really is no barrier to making friends. We also have a hardship funds for those who need help with the cost of public transport.
Walk & Talk
Our Walk & Talk sessions are designed for everybody no matter what your physical abilitity. We choose routes which are suitable for wheelchair users and those with low mobility.
