Working Together To Support Our Community
Who are we?
Befriending with MARR is a community led initiative to help residents in Medway tackle loneliness and isolation and provide both telephone befriending and monthly face to face sessions across Medway.
We are a group of volunteers who are available to speak with anyone who've been cut off from their support structures - be that community, friends or family. We aim to bridge the gap of isolation with this simple act of kindness.

Type of Outreach Sessions:
Coffee, Chat & Connect – relaxing environment within local cafes/restaurants for all over the age of 18. Perfect for non-committal chats, friendship nurturing and first group interactions.
The Friendship Spectrum - The Frienship Spectrum in a specialised befriending group for Autistic adults, those with ADD, ADHD or any other lifelong condition which can make forming friendships more difficult.
Brainstormz - We help to facilitate Brainstormz which is run by Sue Bulpin and Lee Roberts who both have Functional Neuological Disorder. The group is specifically for anyone with a neurological condition.
Walk & Talk – light exercise for all abilities, we ensure all routes are fully accessible and go at the pace of the slowest member. We stop for refreshments enjoying both nature and company.
Board Games – Working with our MA|RR Community Champion Playopolis in Rochester, we get together for board games of all types, we play collectively or in pairs.
Health Empowerment – Aimed for all those with chronic health conditions, this group will be a safe sanctuary for those wishing to discuss their conditions and experiences in a safe and welcoming venue.
Climate Course - Working across Medway MA|RR will be running a series of Climate Courses within community spaces. Sessions are interactive and informative. We are an active member of the Medway Council Climate Change Community Working Group and our co-founder Kate is currently undertaking a higher level climate certification course.
